Long before it was conquered, Tahoe was home to the Washoe people, they came from the Great Basin Valley during late spring and summer and spent their time there hunting, fishing and gathering. They referred to it as Da'Ow'Ga which means "lake" in their native language. According to the Washoe elders  Da'Ow'Ga was considered their healing waters, a place that is fundamental to their culture and way of living. The name Tahoe comes from the mispronunciation of immigrants of the short version; "Da'Ow". This t-shirt is a tribute to Da'Ow'Ga's original inhabitants
